if you encounter downed power lines.
Information for patients who rely on electric or battery-powered medical equipment in their homes:
- Patients who are currently without power and rely on electric or battery-powered medical equipment should consider, if it's possible to do so safely, moving to a family member or friend's home who is still in power as it is difficult to provide accurate restoration estimates at this time.
- Patients should also begin communicating their needs to health system contacts now and plan for assistance should an emergency situation develop.
- If a patient finds themselves in an emergency situation of any kind, they should call 911.
