​Cosumnes River expected to exceed flood stage February 7, 2017

Wilton residents should prepare for flooding

This a Sacramento County flood warning for the Community of Wilton. Residents along the Cosumnes River are advised to consider taking proper precautions due to expected flooding along the River. This may include preparing supplies like an evacuation bag. The National Weather Service is forecasting that the river gauge at Michigan Bar on the Cosumnes River to reach flood stage of 12 feet at 5 a.m., tomorrow morning. The flood waters are expected to reach the peak of 14.9 feet by 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7. Residents are advised to take any precautionary actions they feel appropriate to protect themselves or property. Expect flooding along local roads and plan an escape route to prior to any localized flooding. Do not attempt to drive through flooded areas. Flooding forecasts are predictions based on current weather pattern forecasts and are subject to change as weather and river conditions change.
